Remember the promise of a super Book Courier, alas unfulfilled?

Hi Ian.

I have to admit, I love the doubletalk engine as well, the quality of the
voice is really good at high speed as you mention, and I used to spend many
an hour listening to classic literature provided with the courier on its cd
rom from the project Gutenberg. Happy days but alas, time and tech move
forward.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Thanks for all advice. Since I have three couriers, each of which I'll play
till they play no more, I'll keep a windows machine going just to support
that activity. I like the courier over other options mentioned such as
Stream and Booksense because of the quality of the voice I use, the high
speed at which I can read and the astonishingly good battery life. I never
use it for audio books or other mp3 files. Though I also have a Plextalk
Pocket, I find its Daniel voice horrible to listen to.

Hi Ian.

The short answer is no, however you should be able to copy files like mp3
files directly to the flash card. For text and daisy books though, you'll
need to use the transfer tool software which is only available for windows
at this time. Since the book courier has been discontinued for over a year
now, I doubt whether any support for the mac will be forthcoming, so you
might want to consider upgrading to something like the book sense.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Anyone know whether the Book Courier transfer tool will work on a Mac or
whether there's a version designed for that combination? I'm still a
regular and devoted courier user.
