[BCAB] Voice Recognition on iPhone

There has been an update to Dragon Naturally Speaking for IPhone in the last
day or so but sadly it still does not work with voiceover when you are
actually dictating. This is not as big a problem as it could be once you
know that the button to stop recording is in the bottom right hand corner.
Speech recognition is one area in which Android is one step ahead of apple
and the integration is generally better. OK, so the latest IPhone has Siri
but the reality is that for most existing IPhone users, this is not worth
paying £600 at this stage to upgrade to a new phone. There is also an app
called Vlingo which is also free that is worth playing with.

Subject: [BCAB] Voice Recognition on iPhone
I'm interested to know what experiences people are having with Voice
Recognition on iPhones running VoiceOver. I'm experimenting with it for
making calls on an iPhone4 with iOS5. I've seen it demo'd very
impressively, and I think that potentially VR has the potential to get
around some problems VI users have with typing on the touch screen (as per
Graham's earlier message following the ten pint scenario, assuming VR can
cope with a certain amount of slurring). I must say though that results I'm
getting are inconsistent, even in a situation with low background noise. It
will be interesting to see whether the use of Siri on the 4GS will
revolutionise the use of VR.
