I went to the site and read your blog, with which I agree, but the link to
show the comments wouldn't open.

The only thing is, while we can have a rant about this sort of thing, what
can we actually do about it?  It would mean contacting thousands of
offending sites and asking them to change their ways, which I very much
doubt would work.

Yesterday I wrote a tongue in cheek rant about the places websites put
social networking buttons. I wanted to kick start some discussion around the
topic, and this has already begun with a couple of comments.
