Yes, Dave, it sound as if your bandwidth is being throttled.  NTL/Virgin can be a pain for that, so complain.  It probably local kids downloaded music and such like, and it they who should be throttled - metaphorically speaking of course!

Between the hours of 8pm and 10pm every night, it is impossible for me to browse web pages. I've a suspicion this may be down to my IP but given that they are all much the same in this country, I doubt changing would make a jot of difference. I've tried both ie8 and Mozilla Firefox, but with no joy.

Does anyone else have similar experience, and what is the remedy?
