Hi Ian,

Doesn't Tune-In have the BBC stations as well? Does on Android, so you
don't need the Beeb app, do you?

All the best

Steve

Since my sonus went the way they all do and stopped working I've opted to
source my radio via my iPhone and a dock. This means you effectively have a
talking radio when you use one of the internet radio apps which are
available. My personal choices are the BBC iPlayer Radio app and Tunein
radio which gives access to thousands of radio stations around the world.
The downside of the BBC app, apart from it only carrying BBC stations is
that it doesn't have a sleep timer and I haven't found an accessible way of
changing the selected radio station in the alarm settings using voiceover.
Tunein has a sleep timer and an alarm function, but I'm not sure whether you
can choose to have a particular station wake you up. The other thing you
need, apart from an iPhone or other Apple device is a wi-fi or 3G
connection. I'm sure that android enthusiasts will tell us about
possibilities of doing this via those devices.

Hi all,

I have for some years owned a Sonus Talking Digital Radio. The key problem
is that for some unknown reason I keep losing signal so the clock doesn't
know the time and as such the alarm does not sound unless I happen to reset
the whole thing half an hour before I want the alarm to go off. This is not
very useful.
Therefore I have been trying to acquire a new device. Today I received CC67
from RNIB but this model does not give speech when setting the alarm time so
it is to be returned.
The question is, can anyone recommend a talking digital radio that I can
plug into the wall and forget about.

Best

Roger
