I know google maps is available for the IPhone.  does this also have turn by turn navigation so it can be used like google maps on android?

On Android  there is a ton of free alternative GPS apps that offer accessibility , Google maps & intersection being two of them! Sindero just tries to narrow iOS's gap a little :) HTH Muzz
