making!!!

Cheers

I too have lost some of my mags, and God alone knows why the email service
has taken so long to migrate to the new technology or whatever it is.
Earlier this week I was told we are having another month's extension to the
subscription. Why did they do this when the thing wasn't broke in the first
place?

Alan

Hi Alan

You mention the Talking Newspaper and Magazine service. This, for us, has
become a real disappointment. It is a pity that TNAUK as it was is now
defunct. Not only has the Email service been suspended for those who rely
on it, but some publications are disappearing too. Martin likes Which?
Gardening, but RNIB have told him that there is no longer any demand for it.
I would love to know on what information they base this decision as there
are plenty of people with little or no sight who love gardening as a hobby.

Come the end of our subscription for this year, we may well not renew in
protest to the changes that, for us anyway, have made the service worse. I
know there are more formats to download, but you seem to have to go through
hoops to get them.

What with that and the revamped shop website, it leaves me wondering just
who benefits from these changes? Watch out talking books!!

Kind regards,

George and others interested
apparently they paid a lot of money "to put things right" on the first
occasion when there was a raft of complaints about the shop , so I guess
they should be asking for their money back once more! You could not invent
this scenario could you nor the mess with the email versions of TNM products
as well which still remains unresolved.

Alan

Spot on Iain. I've just called the shop line as there's a myriad of funnies
all over. I'm hopefully going to get a call back from someone.

George.

That is rather bizarre. They seem to be listed in descending order of number
of products.

Hi Graham,

I don't know what's going on with the RNIB's shop pages.

There is a category called "Talking Computer Software" which lists JAWS, but
as the "Product Type" list box is not sorted in alphabetical order, it's
difficult even for a sighted user to find what they want.

Here are the first 12 items as they appear to illustrate what I mean.

DAISY audio books (77)
Handheld magnifiers (43)
Eye protection (38)
cane tips and accessories (29)
Long folding canes (29)
Bulbs and tubes (20)
Graphite ultra canes (20)
Voice audio labelling (19)
DAISY extras (18)
Tactile labelling (17)
Replacement batteries (15)
Illuminated magnifiers (15)

George.

Hi all.

I've been having a bit of a look round the RNIB shop. I think I can browse
the categories but can't seem to find any that would seem to relate to
products such as JAWS for Windows.

I can search for JAWS and find it that way but I can't seem to find it by
browsing. Could anyone tell me in which section it is?

Cheers

Graham
