[BCAB] Seeing AI

Well, I have used both for longer-form text and had a mixed bag.

Seeing AI seems to edge KNFB when it comes to some material and completely vice versa for others. KNFB totally failed to capture a
page of a book with lots of pictures, whereas AI not only got it, but kept the headings. Conversely KNFB let me capture a
multi-column sheet of foodstuffs and their prices whereas AI gave me all the menu items, and then all the prices rather than looking
at the layout. Primarily the reason we continue to use KNFB to read our post is that it's a few taps to dropbox, although I do
wish they'd make it automatic.

Hi Jackie.

I find that the app is great for reading bar codes and it's not at all bad
for reading bits of text. I do however find that there are times when I am
trying to identify a ready meal from the freezer but I just can't quite find
the bar code with Seeing AI. In these situations I do find Tap Tap See and
an app called Identifi to be quite useful in these situations. I've not
really had the time to compare Seeing Ai document channel and KNFB reader so
I don't know which is best for scanning longer documents.

Regards

Graham

I have not had much of an opportunity to play with this app given all the
bits and pieces I am currently doing. However, I was really impressed when
just holding my iPhone over RNIB Talking Book CDs, and finding that it does
read everything really well. This is really useful given Martin and I both
receive them, so identifying them quickly is brilliant.

What are your thoughts on the app generally, and what are you using it for?

Kind regards,

Jackie Brown
