[BCAB] Saving a document in Word 2016

Sorted. I went into file>options then arrowed down to 'Save and tabbed
across to 'Do not open backstage view' that was unchecked. I checked it and
all's well again. Thanks for the ideas that everyone sent. I'm sure they
will come in handy in the future.

Cheers

Barry

Hi Jackie and all

Yes, I should have explained further - Sorry. My machine has a ssd for
programmes, and a larger hd for everything else. I have set a default
location of my documents on e drive. In my documents, I have a quite
sophisticated file/folder structure. It is when I want to save to the
second or third level of a folder that I am struggling since a re-install of
Office 2016. What I used to do was to do the f12 or control s to save the
document, then type the name, then shift tab a couple of times to find the
folders and arrow to the one I wanted to save in. Now when I try this
process, the first thing that comes up when I hit control s is a backstage
view save tab, not the title edit box. Tabbing takes me to other backstage
view tabs. I've only just now noticed this backstage view is not familiar.
Perhaps it is that I don't need backstage view?

Cheers

Barry

Hi Barry

What is it about the saving process that is causing the bother? When in
your document, press F12 which brings up the Save As dialog box. You should
now be able to give your document a file name with the DOCX extension, and
it ought, by rights, to save it in your Documents folder.

Shout if that's not enough information or not what you meant.

Kind regards,

Hi all

Saving a document with Jaws 18 and Word 2016 seems to be a bit of a palaver
for me, so I think I might be going about it wrong. I'd appreciate it if
someone could tell me how they do it easily.

Thanks in anticipation.

Cheers

Barry
