Actually, the solution is probably to uninstall the Kapsys device from
device manager, then letting Windows re-detect it.

are you using explorer64?
I wonder if this may be part of the problem if you are running this file
manager alternative?
There will be a solution,  I don't believe that upgrading to windows 10 is
the only answer, if it is the answer at all.
