[BCAB] google home and youtube music problem?

Hi,

I have just gone through the process of setting up a trial on my phone and it wanted payment info so I would suggest it isn't set up as a trial.  Did this ever work from when you had it?  Actually thinking about this a bit more there is no point in using a Chromecast since you want to use the speaker as you have a Home Max, so i think your only option currently is to sign up to a music service trial if you haven't already.  Youtube Music may not be the best one out there, it may be worth looking at Spotify Premium and Google Music.  You could even go with a few of them running after the prior one ends if you want to try the services before sticking on a particular one.

baring in mind that I only set it up on saturday, unless something has gone

That is a paid service so you're either on a trial period that lasts 30 days
(which may have expired) or you're paying for it in which case there is a
problem.

End game though is you need to pay for this service or get a Chromecast so
the system thinks you have a TV to show ads on, or use another service which
you have access to of course.

it says subscription active for youtube music in the google home app, so I
should have.

Hi,

Do you have a Youtube Music subscription?  If you don't, you need to use the
Google Home in conjunction with a screen device (either a Google Home Hub or
a Chromecast).

BTW - you could always get a Chromecast and an HDMI to optical or other
audio plug for audio-only listening.  The screen is required to show
adverts.

hello all,
is anyone else having issues with any of the google home speakers and
youtube music?
I've got the google home max, and any time it tries to play something from
youtube music, it just says, "sorry, something went wrong. when you are
ready, try again"
