[BCAB] downloading Audible books from Audible on an IPhone or Android?

Hi Steve,

I hadn't thought about Alexa being used this way. But is it possible to increase the speech rate of the book being read?

Hi Phil,

So what about an Amazon Echo to read your Audible books? That is not at all difficult and we use that method primarily now, if Angie and I want to listen together.

Either that, or the GGMM E2 or E5 speakers.

All the best

Steve

Hi,

Thanks Steve for clarifying the position regarding audible files under android.

I have two registered Victor Reader Stream devices on which I listen to audible content. I do not have to download a book twice so the notion of digitally signing to specific device is untrue. Maybe to device type, yes.

I agree that it would seem simpler to use a mainstream (tablet etc) device to listen to this content. However, like Henry, I like the simplicity and tactile nature of specific solutions.

Hi Mike
That's very interesting. I am now confused-I know it doesn't take a lot <smiles>.
Bearing in mind what Steve and Ibrahim have stated, I wonder why will it work on a macbook air?
I do have two smart blue tooth speakers the GGMME2 and the GGMME5 and they are both very good speakers, but they rely upon the internet.
Best wishes
Henry

Hi Henry,

Not that this will help you, but you can download Audible books onto a MacBook Air, once the Mac is authorised to Audible; you can then copy them straight to an SD card and play them on the Stream. Not a cheap option, but it’s the easiest way I’ve found of downloading books for transfer to an SD card. I know there’s been a lot of discussion about the GDME speakers here; perhaps you could arrange a demo; I’m sure that there are a lot of smart speakers about now.

Best wishes,

Mike

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. I'll share your thoughts with development team so that they can consider this in future improvements."
