yes it is very possible, but from my experience so far, I would say that the 
audio quality is rather poor, and subject to a lot of background echo and 
breakup.
would have expected better these days.

Is it not possible for echo devices to communicate with one-another over the
internet?  This would be Voice over IP I guess using echo devices as the
handset.
