[BCAB] Domain and email hosting recommendations

Hi Andrew,

I don't really see how that works. It's either a VPS or it's not. It can't
be a shared hosting service and be isolated.

All the best

Steve

Hi,

Whilst we're all sounding off on our favourite domain/email hosting
providers I always use Gandi www.gandi.net.

The email is very simple, you either get email forwarders to another mailbox
or a set amount of POP3/IMAP mailboxes and an outbound relay. You also get
full DNS access to modify the records should you want to redirect email
elsewhere (like hosted Exchange on Office365 for example).

Web hosting is very good in my view from Gandi, each instance runs in an
isolated container and you have access to do specific items in the host.
Its shared hosting but each customer is isolated from the web server point
of view as if they were on their own host or private server.

Andrew.

Thanks Steve. I'll keep that in mind as I shop around.

Hi Lu,

I could do it for a fiver a month, plus one pound per additional mailbox, if
it helps.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [BCAB] Domain and email hosting recommendations

Hi,

I'm investigating costs to set up a domain, specifically to have a
customised domain name for email for my business. At this point, I'm not
necessarily looking to launch a website.

I've checked out GoDaddy but I thought I'd ask for any recommendations on
here, as there are a few business owners on here. Will appreciate any
recommendations or advice. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
LU
