Hi Jackie,

This is a system file which saves settings specific to the folder it exists in. It will usually only appear if you have changed some characteristics of that folder. It is advisable to leave it.

For a fairly simple explanation about it, go to https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001060.htm

Subject: [BCAB] A Desktop.ini file query

I've noticed that a file called Desktop.ini has appeared in each of my Dropbox folders, and it won't let me delete it from any of them. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it, or what its purpose there might be?
I've only noticed this over the last few days, it definitely hasn't been there longer than that.

Thanks for any help.

Kind regards,

Jackie Brown
