What version of Winamp and what operating system? Something similar happened to me with Windows10 and the latest version of Winamp and I eventually simply uninstalled and switched to a different media player.

Subject: [BCAB] Winamp problem

If I force winamp to play a file, i.e. open it within winamp, all is fine,

Browsing to a file in windows explorer and pressing enter, nothing happens.
Winamp opens, and if I press the space bar, the file I previously forced to play starts playing.

I tried uninstalling winamp and re-installing it from scratch, but to no avail.

Any suggestions very welcome,
